It is our
goal to provide diverse and thought-provoking lectures
on a variety of subjects. Topics will include holistic
health, eco-conscious living and personal growth/development.
Lectures will be selected based on their unique
offerings.

Anne
Harrington, Chair, is Harvard College Professor and
Professor for the History of Science, specializing
in the history of psychiatry, neuroscience, and the
other mind sciences. She is also Visiting Professor
for Medical History at the London School of Economics,
where she co-edits a new journal called Biosocieties.
Professor
Harrington received her Ph.D. in the History of Science
from Oxford University, and has held postdoctoral
fellowships at the Wellcome Institute for the History
of Medicine in London, and the University of Freiburg
in Germany. For six years, she co-directed Harvard's
Mind, Brain, and Behavior Initiative (mbb.harvard.edu).
She also was a consultant for the MacArthur Foundation
Research Network on Mind-Body Interactions (www.mindbody.org).
Currently she serves on the Board of the Mind and
Life Institute, an organization dedicated to cross-cultural
dialogue between Buddhism and the sciences (www.mindandlife.org).
She
is the author of two books: Medicine, Mind and the
Double Brain (1987) and Reenchanted Science (1997).

of a detective story, Harrington offers a taxonomy
of the main narratives that we draw on to try to make
sense of disease, whether they emphasize our ability
to heal ourselves or more magical interventions. |

Dipl.Ing., a native of Austria, has an engineering
background. He worked with high tech medical equipment
in one of Europe's largest University hospitals,
the General Hospital in Vienna. After years of study
with world renown Feng Shui masters, Brandmaier
now offers business and residential consultations
in his full-time Feng Shui practice. He is a member
of the International Feng Shui Guild and the American
Society of Dowsers.

Bob
has studied with traditional Native American Elders
from many nations over the years to gain knowledge
of spirit and the traditional ways of the people.
His primary teacher is a Mikmaq, Elder Don Caplin,
who is from Listiquj, Quebec, Canada.
Bob has been a flute maker and player for over nine
years. The songs that he plays were given to him through
heart from spirit and are healing songs for the people.
He often will perform at powwows so the audience can
relax and enjoy the timeless sounds that spirit gives
us through the flute.
A skilled outdoorsman all of his life, Bob lends much
to the protection of the knowledge of many old skills
that are thought to be lost in today's world. He is
experienced in the art of basket weaving, brain tanning,
the making of all kinds of leather work and cordage,
drums, shakers and flutes. Making these things is
only part of the effort. Knowing the legends of the
items being made is a part of the work as well. The
legends offer lessons about life as one learns the
skill. It is a part of Bob's vision to pass on the
complete knowledge of these things as they were passed
down to him.
Bob and his wife Robin are also powwow traders offering
flutes, flute kits, drums, shakers and many Native
American trade goods. He also has CDs of his flute
playing available. |

cultural and environmental implications. Whether it
be skin and body care, household cleaners, food or
the other items we use on a regular basis. Many of
todays product are purchased with without ever questioning
what the ingredients are and/or what the health implications
may be by using them.
This
discussion will cover some of the common chemicals
used in body care and household cleaners and how they
can affect your health. We will discuss how to read
labels to determine if the product is truly nontoxic
or if it has simply been “green washed”.
Also we will look at the issue of GMO foods and factory
farms. Solutions from the very simple home remedies
such as baking soda and vinegar for cleaning to what
to look for in a truly Green Company will be given.
